Manor Musical Theatre Company’s 2018 production, Kiss Me Kate will run from Tuesday 24th April until Saturday 28th April 2018.

Kiss Me, Kate is a musical with music and lyrics by Cole Porter and written by Samuel and Bella Spewack. Cole Porter’s most successful show, it was first produced on Broadway in 1949, and awarded a Tony for Best Musical. The story involves the production of a musical version of William Shakespeare’s The Taming of the Shrew and the conflict on and off-stage between Fred Graham, the show’s director, producer, and star, and his leading lady, his ex-wife Lilli Vanessi. A secondary romance concerns Lois Lane, the actress playing Bianca, and her gambler boyfriend, Bill, who runs afoul of some gangsters.

Manor Musical Theatre Company (previously Manor Operatic Society) were established 60 years ago; an amateur company operating with a self-generated budget of around £25,000 providing a 14 piece orchestra and fully costumed productions such as South Pacific (April 2017) and Calamity Jane (April 2016).
