The Royal Sutton Coldfield Orchestra (formerly Sutton Coldfield Chamber Orchestra) is based just north of Birmingham. We draw our membership from across North Birmingham, Staffordshire and surrounding areas. We consider ourselves to be one of the leading amateur orchestras in the Midlands region. A large proportion of our players are school music service specialist teachers and music teachers, and play to a very professional standard. Members are generally grade 8 standard.
We are confident in tackling a wide spectrum of classical, romantic and contemporary music. We pride ourselves in our musicality, passion and polished performances. Our Youth Orchestra, the most recent addition to our organsation, will ultimately feed the main orchestra. We are also proud to be partnered with the Sutton Coldfield Musical Theatre Company, and the award-winning Four Oaks Cluster Choir – part of Sutton Coldfield Choirs.
